Install Official Android 4.0.4 ICS XWLPM On Galaxy S2 I9100 Manually How to Tutorial

Remeber it was March 2012 that Samsung Galaxy 2 got its android 4.0.3 official firmware update. And now samsung has released the latest Adroid 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich ICS XWLMP firmware.The new updates comes with fixing the bug, better batty performances and etc.And you can feel the smoothness of UI .This update will availabe for US and asians soon but now the russians and other europe regions are getting this OTA. But right now you can install this manually. S2 international users can install this wihtout any problems. Below I will teach you on how to  Install Official Android 4.0.4 ICS XWLPM Update on Galaxy S2 I9100.Remeber this update is for Russia but can be flashed on any Galaxy S2 out there, as long as it’s the international I9100 variant

Requirements:

1. This firmware and the guide below are compatible only and only with Galaxy S2, model number I9100. It’s not compatible with the I9100G or any other device.

2. Back up data. ( Contacts,SMS, Videos, Images,APN settings and other important datas)

3. The battery of the device should be 70% and above.

4.It’s important to have the proper drivers for the phone installed. If you already installed Samsung’s Kies software then you already have the driver. Download only if you haven't installed Kies. Download 32 bit windows here and 64 bit wondows here


Now the step by step guide on how to Install and Update your Galaxy S2 with Official Android 4.0.4 ICS XWLPM firmware.

1. Dowload the XWLPM firmware here. Filename: I9100XWLPM_I9100OXELP8_SER.zip with 510 MB 

2. Then Extract the downloaded file.After extracted you get a file named I9100XWLPM_I9100OXELP8_I9100XXLQ6_HOME.tar.md5

3. Download Odin 1.85 Here. Filename: Odin 1.85.zip. 

4. Then extract Odin 1.85 ip file to a folder.

5. Switch off the Device. Now put the Galaxy s2 into download mode by pressing and holding the said keys together ( Volume down+home+power). Then a warning screen come up just press volume up to enter download mode

6. Open Odin then double click the Odin 3 V1.85.exe.

7.  Now connect your phone to your PC , odin will automatically recognize your device, and you should get a message added under the message box that appears in the bottom left. If you don't get this message you have problems with the driver. Be sure that you properly install the drivers.

8.  Then go to the PDA tab and select I9100XWLPM_I9100OXELP8_I9100XXLQ6_HOME.tar.md5 (from step 2)

9. You are requested not to make any changes other than PDA section.Once you are confirm about that go and click on Start button for starting the update process. After the completion of the installation process, you device will reboot automatically and display a PASS Green message.

If ODIN gets stuck and doesn’t seem to be doing anything, or you get a FAIL message (with red background) in ODIN, disconnect the phone from the PC, close ODIN, remove battery, re-insert it, turn phone on in Download mode again, and do the procedure again from Step 6.

10.  Then Disconnect your device from computer and reboot in recovery mode by holding home + Volume Up + Power keys together till the screen turns on, then let them go to boot into recovery.

11.Once you are in recovery mode, use volume keys to move the selection up and down and home/power key to select the option. Then Go to Wipe data/Factory Reset and select it. Select Yes on next screen.

12. Then select reboot system now to restrat the phone.

Congratulations!!! The Official android 4.0.4 update is now installed and running in your Galaxy S2!!!
